Liza Miller tells the story behind Women Riders World Relay, the global relay that became a movement — and the new WRWR app carrying its mission forward: connecting women riders worldwide, challenging them to ride further, and changing what's possible on two wheels.
Learn self defense from Rebekah Mendez, co-owner and manager at One Academy, a martial arts school in Athens, Ohio.
Mendez began training Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 2012, mastering our Women's Self Defense program. She now instructs several adult and children’s classes per week.
Come dressed and prepared for some hands-on combat-style (but friendly) interaction.
Iron Butt rider Wendy Crockett shares the chaotic, hilarious, occasionally absurd story of riding 80,208 miles across 49 states plus DC — in alphabetical order — with her friend Ian McPhee. Hear about terrible luck, questionable decisions, and a whole lot of adventure, where the only thing that didn't break was their spirits.
Join us at this casual event on the patio at Ohio University Inn & Conference Center. Meet some folks from My Sister's Place and learn a little about the work they do.
Food and drinks available for purchase from Cutler’s Restaurant.
Raffle 2 will be held during the evening social.

The Ride for Women Poker Chip Run will take you around Ohio’s Windy 9 country to 4 different locations. You’ll draw a chip at each stop, as well as a fifth one when you arrive at Stuart’s Opera House for the Athena Banquet, later in the day. Locations will be announced at Athena HQ, just before you head out on the run. The route you take between stops is up to you. Feel free to make the ride as long as you like, just make sure you hit the four stops before 3:00 PM.
Poker Chip Run buy-in is $50.00 (all proceeds benefit My Sister’s Place).
The Athena Banquet is the final event of Athena Ride for Women and it is packed full of fun.
Participants in the Ride for Women Poker Chip Run will receive their fifth chip upon arrival. We will all enjoy some initial social time, appetizers and drinks (cash bar available) before settling in for the Poker Chip drawing — when the winners are revealed. Following the announcement of our winners, we’ll enjoy the complimentary dinner buffet provided by Ohio’s Windy 9.
